The Op Shop
In 2009, one of our first volunteers, Dot Page, had the idea of opening a Community Op Shop. From small beginnings, the little shop has blossomed and grown into the “Best Little Op Shop” on the Sunshine Coast. People travel from far and wide to pick up a bargain, visit our town and contribute to our community and our locals enjoy the bargains, a friendly chat and our community events.
With all the generous donations from the local community, our volunteers are able to stock our Op Shop and the proceeds are all channeled back into community programs, services and the upkeep of the MVCA buildings and grounds.
Looking for a bargain, looking to reduce landfill and general waste, looking for a treasure?? We offer a quality selection guaranteed to catch every opp shoppers' eye.
Upstairs we have: women’s, men’s and children’s clothing. jewelry, shoes, hats, bags, scarves etc. Knitting and craft, glassware, bric-a-brac and crockery.
Downstairs is a Treasure trove! There are books, toys, electrical, kitchenware, and lots more.
Opening Hours
Our Op Shop is open Mon – Sat, 9am to 1pm
Donations
We have an amazing Community that is so generous with their donations that sometimes we are overflowing!
We happily accept most items provided they are suitable for resale in our shop, are in good working order, not broken damaged, stained or torn.
Unfortunately there are things we cannot re-sell and therefore don’t accept:
- Mattresses
- Televisions
- Motorcycle and bicycle helmets
- Opened toiletries and consumables
- High chairs, cots, baby capsules & prams without the Australian Standard
- Any items broken or incomplete
If you're not sure, please call us ahead to check.
How can I donate?
You can drop off your donations at the shop during our open hours or outside of those hours you can leave them on our verandah out of the weather.
Whilst we are grateful for all your generous donations, please be mindful of the high cost of rubbish disposal when making donations as it impacts our ability to support the community.
