Community Assist & Contribution

MVCA gives financial and practical assistance to the Mooloolah Valley community: directly through the Community Assist Program, and via local organisations - Community Contribution

Community Assist Program

Through our Community Assist program we support local families and residents who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in difficult circumstances. We are able to provide food vouchers from the local IGA supermarket, clothing from the op-shop or fuel vouchers to assist those travelling to medical appointments for example.  We can also provide school uniforms for children attending local schools ( Mooloolah and Eudlo) and sometimes help out with school camp fees. This can be accessed through the school chaplain.

Where appropriate we can provide information about other organisations best able to assist people living within this area. For example Salvation Army, Rental assistance etc.

The Assist Program is entirely funded from revenue raised by the Mooloolah Valley Op-shop which is staffed by our wonderful volunteers.

The Community Assist Officer is available every Monday from 9 am to 12pm. Phone  07 5494 7822 to make an appointment, e-mail assist@mooloolahcommunitycentre.org  or just drop in to the Centre on Bray Road. Proof of identity (driver’s license)  is required as well as proof of residency within the Mooloolah Valley and Eudlo vicinity. All we ask in return is to donate a little of your time if you are able to volunteer at the Centre.

Any and all information provided to the Assist Officer will be kept entirely confidential .

Community Contribution

The Mooloolah Community Centre contributes to MANY and varied community causes. It provides space for activities, promotes local causes, supports development of local young leaders, holds community stalls at local events, and so much more.

We have dispersed to the community in June 2022;

  • Scripture Union Chaplains
  • Rural Fire Brigade, Eudlo, Landsborough
  • Fusion Sunshine Coast
  • Mooloolah Soccer Club
  • Morris House
  • Maleny Neighbourhood Centre
  • Twinnies

We step up to any challenge that presents, and are always open to ideas where we can continue to contribute to and develop our community.

Thank you letters from 2022 recipients:
Mooloolah Football Club
Dear Secretary,
Will you pass onto your committee our heartfelt thanks for a very generous second annual donation to help disadvantaged families and their kids play football at Mooloolah.
We realise how extremely lucky we are to have support from your Community Association for the second year in a row. It assists us to include children in our teams who might otherwise miss out on physical and psychological benefits of playing a team sport.

With Thanks
Charne
